Around the Plaza de Santa Catalina we find the origin of Conil. First stop: the Torre de Guzmán, the old tower, which is the only trace of the original fortress and the first building in Conil. Beneath the current Cultural Center of Santa Catalina the original Mudejar church of the 15th century remains.

The prison, from the 15-16th century, was the first town hall and one of the first constructions of Conil. The chapel of Jesus Nazareno of the 16th century. And, finally, we can see La Chanca, from the mid-sixteenth century, an old industrial factory dedicated to the fishing and trade of almadraba tuna.

Within this small urban space we can see the three pillars on which the life of the society of the time was based: military, economic and religious.
