Route of the viewpoints

Thanks to this route you can enjoy the incredible views that the landscape of Conil offers from different parts of the municipality: 

• Mirador del Cabo de Roche: The viewpoint, located next to the Roche Tower, today a lighthouse, allows you to contemplate privileged views of the fishing port, the coast from Conil to Barbate, and on clear days you can see the coast of Africa. It is also an ideal spot to observe birds and cetaceans, and to enjoy magnificent sunsets. 
• Roqueo viewpoint: located on a cliff, it offers majestic views of the coastline of Conil, from the fishing port to Castilnovo beach. 
• Mirador de la Atalaya: nowadays it is surrounded by the Parque de la Atalaya, an ideal place to rest on the grass under the pine trees while overlooking the beach. Although there is no exact date of construction, it does appear in two illustrations in the Ducal Archives of Medina Sidonia, one from 1727, in a drawing of Conil and its coast, and the other, in another drawing from 1765 on the fishing of the Tiro traps in the 18th century. In both illustrations we find the location of the Atalaya Tower on the current road to the Fontanilla beach in front of the Atalaya Park. Its function was twofold, military for surveillance and civilian, as a sighting point for the shoals of tuna for the tuna traps. 
• Río Salado viewpoint: It is located in a high area of the municipality, in the street of Río Conilete. From this point you can see the entire coastline and a large part of the town of Conil as far as the beach of El Palmar, as well as the merging of the Salado River at its mouth with the Atlantic Ocean. 
• El Jabiguero viewpoint: here you will find the monument that pays homage to the fishermen. It is the perfect place to enjoy incredible sunsets on the beach. 
• Castilnovo Viewpoint: next to the Castilnovo Tower, this viewpoint has a walkway that ends on the sand of the beach, from where you can see the whole extension of the Castilnovo Meadow, the Tower and the beach of the same name, as well as the wetlands and the cattle that graze in the area. 
• La Fontanilla viewpoint: this is a newly built circular viewpoint very close to the Atalaya viewpoint. It is the start of a path through the pine forest that runs along the upper part of the Fontanilla beach cliff, where you can find other wooden viewpoints with views of the sea. 
• Fuente del Gallo Viewpoint: this is built on the Fuente del Gallo cliff and continues with a ramp down to the beach. From here, the most purely cliffy area begins, where you can observe the beauty of this type of coastline with all its rock formations. From here you can see the three stones, rock formations that protrude at low tide on the beach of Fuente del Gallo and offer very characteristic views of this beach.
