General information
This hermitage is a beautiful building made of rocks from the Jardal quarry. It was built in 1929 thanks to the economic donations and land from the neighbours of the area.
It arose from the need of the faithful to have a place of worship. The town of Conil was made up of a main population centre that lived by the sea and other population centres scattered throughout the rural area. At that time, the churches were located in the area closest to the sea, so that those who lived in the countryside and wanted to attend religious services could hardly do so.
Over time, the place fell into disrepair. It even served as a haystack and shelter for domestic animals, and fell into complete ruin.
As a result of nostalgia and the memory of having been the childhood home of the neighbours of the area, in 2005, the Nuestra Señora de Fátima association promoted its reconstruction and, thanks to popular support, it was restored, looking much more beautiful than it did originally.
