Saint John's Eve

General information

Noche De San Juan II
St John's Eve to welcome summer

On the night of 23 June, Conil joins in the celebration of the arrival of summer, the festival of the bonfires of San Juan.

During the day, in the Torre de Guzmán square, the puppets made by the participants in the "Concurso de Juanes y Juanas" (Juanes and Juanas Contest) are exhibited, handmade creations that make a nod to this festivity and to other situations that have taken place in the municipality during the year.

After sunset, a procession leaves the Torre de Guzmán and goes to the beach in a parade with these handmade dolls representing Juan and Juana, accompanied by a musical parade until they reach the promenade area where they will be burnt at the bonfire. This bonfire is located in the Avenida del Río, next to the Bateles Beach, surrounded by all the necessary security measures for the public to enjoy it. It is a magical spectacle that takes place every year, where a special magic is generated in this typical summer festival.
