The International Short Film Festival CONIL DE CINE is an initiative by LAS NIÑAS FILMS aimed at promoting and disseminating film culture. Our goal is to support emerging filmmakers by providing a reference space to showcase their work, foster collaboration, and connect industry professionals.
The first edition of the festival will take place from May 23rd to 25th, 2024, supported by the City Council and the Tourism Board of Conil de la Frontera.
The Festival consists of two main sections: the OFFICIAL SECTION and the CONIL IN FOCUS SECTION.
The OFFICIAL SECTION is divided into categories of Fiction, Documentary, Animation, and a special category dedicated to CINE NEOQUINQUI, exploring neighborhood cinema, street cinema, and new societal marginalities.
The call for submissions is open on Festhome (https://festhome.com/festival/conil-de-cine), and entries will be accepted until February 29th, 2024. Short films must have been produced starting from January 1st, 2023.
CONIL IN FOCUS, whose prize will be awarded by the Tourism Board of Conil, is a special section for short films filmed entirely in Conil de la Frontera, prioritizing local environments and landscapes.
The festival offers a comprehensive approach, including screenings with discussions involving directors and/or producers, workshops, and industry roundtables. It's crucial for directors and producers to present their projects to create a significant networking space alongside speakers and the local film industry.
The total prize pool amounts to €6,300, and the team of Niñas Films, composed of Raquel Guerrero (actress and director), Isabel Sánchez (cultural manager), and Noelia Muñoz (actress and producer), is committed to the success and promotion of this event.
