Protected area and listed as a Site of Community Importance
The mouth of the Salado River has a surface area of 77.4 hectares and a length of 7 kilometres, forming a natural ecosystem in which fresh and salt water coexist. On a walk along its course you can observe beautiful landscapes of rich riverside vegetation and a multitude of bird and fish species. Just before its mouth, the Salado River is crossed by a pedestrian bridge. It is a protected area, declared a Site of Community Importance (SCI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC), becoming part of the Natura 2000 Network and the Network of Protected Natural Spaces of Andalusia.
