General information
Surveillance bunker built after the Civil War
This bunker was built shortly after the end of the Civil War, in the 1940s, at a time when Spain's strategic location between Europe and Africa was desired by the Allied powers. Fear of a possible invasion by German troops from the sea led the Spanish army to build this type of fortification. These bunkers were mainly used to guard the coast from possible threats.
It is located on a rocky outcrop that separates the cove of Puntalejo and the beach of Fuente del Gallo.
Its structure is preserved intact and in relatively good condition, although the areas most exposed to the sea, such as the accesses and outer walls, have suffered damage.
