General information
Due to the abundance of aquifers in the area, two fountains were created in the so-called "Carril de la Fuente". These supplied the urban nucleus with water.
In 1919 new works were carried out which comprised the installation of three water dispensers for human use and one dispenser intended as a drinking trough for animals. In 1949 a facility for laundry was built, replacing the existing one in "Fuente Vieja".
The current fountain is the result of a work of embellishment and recovery of the historic space carried out in 2007.
